So far behind, but want to document a grain bill that is promising and includes no Crystal malts. Used as a base for a contest ribbon Belgian IPA. In this case, same back bone but with WL 100 yeast and different hops.
Grain Bill:
9.25 lbs 2-Row Pale
1.25 lbs Victory Malt
1.0 lbs White Wheat
1.0 lbs Flaked Oats
8 oz Vienna Malt
Mash water volume: 8.0 gal
Mash Temp: 150 for 75 min
Mash out: 168 for 15 min
Boil volume 7.25 gal
Hop schedule:
60 min: 1.25 oz Summit 16.7% AA
15 min: 1.5 oz Amarillo 8.7% AA
15 min: 1.5 oz Motueka 7.0%
Flame Out: 1.0 oz Amarillo 8.7% AA
Flame Out: 1.0 oz Motueka 7.0% AA
Whirlpool: 2.0 oz Galaxy 13.7% AA
Yeast: WL100 California Ale Yeast with 500ml 24 hour starter.
O.G. 1.062 (efficiency pre calc)
IBU: 97
Primary fermentation: 70 degrees
Dry hop Primary ferm: TBD
Dry hop Keg: TBD
Notes: Volume of hops reduced the final primary volume in primary fermenter. Numbers are fine, but final volume is reduced.
